WASHINGTON — Democratic lawmakers on Thursday praised employees at a New Mexico department of Wells Fargo for changing into the primary department of the nation’s fourth-largest financial institution to unionize.
“Your success brings the battle for the Dignity of Work on to Wall Avenue’s entrance door,” stated Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.

Staff on the financial institution’s Albuquerque department voted 5 to three on Wednesday to unionize underneath the Communications Staff of America’s Wells Fargo Staff United.
The vote made Wells Fargo the primary main U.S. lender with a unionized workforce.
“That is the primary union at a giant financial institution within the nation! #UnionStrong,” Rep. Melanie Stansbury, a New Mexico Democrat, wrote in a put up on the social media web site X, previously often known as Twitter.
